Since 2026, the Institute for Peace & Military Ethics (IFME) has brought together the academic research of the Institute for Theology and Peace (ithf) and the educational and dialogue work of the Centre for Ethical Education in the Armed Forces (zebis). This website is therefore no longer maintained. You can find all information and news on our new website at www.ifme.de.
The IFME designs and develops a wide range of resources for military chaplains. In character guidance training (Lebenskundlicher Unterricht, LKU), chaplains provide a trusted space where soldiers can discuss ethical questions arising from military life. To support them, the Didactics Portal and its media library offer a broad selection of quality-assured teaching materials. The steadily growing collection includes classroom-tested lesson plans, films and other curated learning resources with teaching suggestions, as well as a collection of teaching methods. The portal can be accessed anytime and anywhere, including on deployment.
